Margaret's Personal Thoughts on MSC Cruise Line

Cruising as a form of travel offers a delightful experience – one that can be enjoyed solo or with companions. However, the costs involved often pose a barrier. Margaret Manning, co-founder of “60 and Me,” a community for women over 60, shares her perspective on cruising with MSC, a cruise line that offers great value for money.

For many, the idea of cruising conjures up images of luxury and high expense. But not all cruising experiences fit this stereotype. As Margaret points out, "I travel as an individual on a budget," emphasizing that budget constraints shouldn't mean sacrificing the pleasure of travel. MSC emerges as a viable option here, providing fulfilling experiences at a price-point that allows passengers to enjoy repeatedly.

The MSC Armonia, despite its age, has been keeping its charm with consistent maintenance. "It's been kept really nice," Margaret notes. Though labeled by some as inferior in food and service, Margaret dismisses these negative perceptions, finding the environment enjoyable and destinations alone surreal.

Finding solitude on a large ship may seem challenging. However, Margaret shares a great travel tip: onboard MSC ships like the Armonia, there are secluded lounges offering tranquility away from busy areas. This escape makes travel relaxing and lends a unique appeal to the MSC cruising experience.

The true allure of an MSC cruise lies in the destinations. On reaching Kotor, Montenegro, the enthralling landscapes offer the same beauty, whether viewed from an MSC ship or a luxury liner like Viking's. "I paid about $800 for this cruise...four nights, five days," Margaret highlights, embracing the value as she indulges in independent explorations at different ports without paying for structured excursions.

Embarking on MSC requires adopting a new mentality toward travel: "Change your mindset...enjoy the destinations," Margaret advises. Anticipation of waiting times or smaller inconveniences drastically pales in comparison to the overall satisfactory experience if approached correctly.

"Just go for it, and change your mindset around what you expect. Enjoy the places you go to."

With this positive outlook, Margaret plans for more adventures with MSC in the future.

Sixty and Me extends a friendly invitation to any woman over 60 who wishes to seek camaraderie in traveling or to share their life’s adventures. As Margaret concludes, an engaged and supportive community best enhances these unique travel experiences.
