What Happens During a Thread Lift?

Threadlift is minimally invasive and involves special considerations both before and after the procedure. Here, we explore these essential steps.

Before undergoing a threadlift, patients are advised of specific pre-operative guidelines to ensure optimal results and minimize potential risks.

  • Avoid alcohol consumption leading up to the procedure.
  • Refrain from using medications like aspirin and ibuprofen 24 hours prior, as they may increase bleeding and bruising.

Upon arrival for the procedure, which typically lasts about 30 minutes, the patient’s skin is cleaned using an antiseptic solution to reduce bacterial presence.

An anesthetic is then injected to numb the skin, similar to the anesthetics used in dental treatments, ensuring the process is as comfortable as possible.

The thread is preloaded on a blunt cannula, which is inserted into the desired area. Once in place, the cannula is removed, leaving the thread to provide the lifting effect.

Following the insertion, the excess thread is trimmed, a dressing is applied, and antibiotic ointment is used to maintain cleanliness.

  • Preferably use paracetamol if needed, to manage pain post-treatment.
“Post-procedural care is essential to minimize complications and aid recovery.”

By observing these guidelines, patients can have a smoother experience and improved outcomes from their threadlift treatments.
